【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversthecomposition,dimensions,andphysicalpropertiesofcompression-resistant,perpendicularlyorientedmineralfiber(rock,slag,orglass)rollandsheetinsulationintendedforuseonflat,curved,orroundsurfacesoperatingattemperaturesbetween0x00B0;F(x2013;18x00B0;C)and1000x00B0;F(538x00B0;C).Thisproduct(pipeandtankinsulation)istypicallyusedonnominal24in.(610mm)orgreaterdiametersurfaces.Forspecificapplications,theactualusetemperaturesanddiametersshallbeagreeduponbetweenthemanufacturerandthepurchaser.1.2Theorientationofthefiberswithintherollorsheetinsulationisessentiallyperpendiculartotheheated/cooledsurface(paralleltoheatflow).Thisspecificationdoesnotapplytoflatblock,board,ductwrap,orpreformedpipemineralfiberinsulationwheretheinsulationfiberorientationisgenerallyparalleltotheheated/cooledsurface(acrosstheheatflow).1.3Forsatisfactoryperformance,properlyinstalledprotectivevaporretardersmustbeusedinbelowambienttemperatureapplicationstoreducemovementofmoisture/watervaporthroughoraroundtheinsulationtowardsthecoldersurface.Failuretouseavaporretardercanleadtoinsulationandsystemdamage.RefertoPracticeC921toaidmaterialselection.Althoughvaporretarderspropertiesarenotpartofthisspecification,propertiesrequiredinSpecificationC1136arepertinenttoapplicationorperformance.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Whentheinstallationoruseofthermalmaterials,accessories,andsystemsmayposesafetyorhealthproblems,themanufacturershallprovidetheuser-appropriatecurrentinformationregardinganyknownproblemsassociatedwiththerecommendedusefortheproductsofthecompanyandshallalsorecommendprotectivemeasurestobeemployedintheirsafeutilization.Theusershallestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
